pork: it’s so weird when someone suddenly says ‘yo’ to me. haha. yeah i had a nice time in sydney! did you actually read everything? how unusual! haha, suddenly 37 does not seem so high. highest recorded temperature for this year’s heatwave was about 46.2 i think. gosh. but i pity all of you! it’s not nice when the temperature is so high. it’s pretty okay cos i think the food is cooked by Chinese chefs, but don’t ask for my opinion cos sometimes i can be pretty unaccurate. haha. i think you would like to eat chinese food in an asian country because you think it would seem more normal or something. there’s a lot of cultural food in melbourne. definitely has japanese and korean, as well as mexican, italian, thai, vietnamese, turkish and indian i think. so good variety. yeah, the chinese food is pretty nice. haha. yes, i will email soon…super busy right now and there will be exams and work experience and i just started music lessons this term, so…yes, you can imagine. how are you supposed to box me? haha.

heard that all of you are having mid year exams now. tell me how it went! be thankful you have exams (easy for me to say right?). the students here have never had exams and are getting stressed out because this will be the first year everyone will get exams. but…it is not the end of the world like my history teacher said. DO NOT BECOME SUICIDAL IF YOU FAIL. IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. not her exact words, but yes, you get the message.

i’ve been musically degraded, literally. my parents signed me up for 40-minute music lessons this term and my teacher happens to be mrs ellis (pronounced air-liss), the teacher who always accompanies students when they are performing for music assemblies on thursday or other music performances. she told me that the jump from grade 6 to 8 was too big and that I HAD TO TAKE GRADE 7. so here i am, degraded. i’m not sad about it, though. maybe taking grade 7 would be a good thing cos it would help to improve my foundation? i admit my foundation is really unstable. at my first lesson with mrs ellis, i played scales (‘good girl’), did sight reading (‘you sight read well–it is a great asset particularly when you’re starting a new piece’) and played the Ravel piece. she praised everything but i doubt i was that good. my mum says the westerns all praise everything. hmmm. i wonder how terrible i was!

weather’s really cold now although it’s only autumn. oh dear. what about winter? MAXIMUM temperatures these days have been around 16. in the morning it is so cold that when we breathe out we see clouds. it is cold even when the wind is not blowing. and the red tree that we always see when we come in from gate 2 is balding! it was so pretty in summer…now there are only a few leaves left. and trees that used to have green leaves now have red leaves. it’s soooo pretty when you are in a car along a street and you see a whole row of red trees. ahhh…my sister and i are going to wear winter uniform next week. yay there’s tights, so our legs won’t be so cold.
