everyone’s busy, but i figure i’d better post. I DON’T WANT MY BLOG TO DIE.
anyway.
jwei: hey, how’ve you been? of course i remember you. it’s a nice place, very different, but still. where are your cousins living? hah, nice random comment. anyway, thanks for your comments, hope to talk to you soon.
candy: tights that are the colour of haising’s blue will be totally wrong. all right, i’ll go to your archives soon…hmm, i am making empty promises. it’s pretty cold here now. no oven. cooling sometimes, but very cold in the morning. if bimbo ever means clever girl, can i call myself a bimbo? okay, stupid question.
xueling: hey. i think latest news is a kid at Clifton Hill Primary got swine flu and they closed down the school. what does economic crises and swine flu have in common? that they affect and kill people? hope you did well! who’s the BM and DM? i suppose one of these posts is filled up by zariel. what about the other? it’s not winter now, although it will be in about a month’s time or something. quite cold now.
zhihao: what’s with the long ‘what’? it’s the same here. you get the flu and everyone goes, ‘OHMYGODSWINEFLU!’ *gasps. whatever -.- you seem to be talking as though the trees are wooden planks. ‘pieces’. so weird! nice to know your bedroom got turned into mini wild wild wet. must have been fun. was there river shiok? or the samsung slide? what on earth is that last sentence about!
yijin: yes you are. nutsy grandma! it is slightly warmer than 6 degrees now but still cold. oh well. better than 47 degrees. that almost killed everyone. oh well. don’t study anymore! yay. be lazy for once. thanks, for telling me to believe in myself!
emily: christmas is 7 months away? anyway, no, i don’t think you’re really one. hah, thanks. you have sexy legs too. haha.
pork chop: hey porky. yeah…lots of different cultural foods. i believe someone could go try everything out and get his/her tongue mixed up over the different tastes. i think you’d look super cute as a riceball, haha. my uniform has blue too. with black and yellow (school song, The Blue, The Black and the Gold, emphasises this!) in the summer dress and winter skirt. it’s not really checkered, the skirt, but yes it’s pleated. no it’s not shorter. we have to wear a blazer for formal assemblies and when we go out of school while wearing our jumpers. school has a stupid rule that we either 1/ wear only uniform 2/ wear uniform with blazer 3/ wear uniform with jumper with blazer over. we can’t wear our jumper only. ridiculous. yeah don’t worry, i’m not going to yell ‘OHMYGODSWINEFLU’ at you. it’s silly. not the swine flu but people teasing people that they have swine flu. anyway, get well soon!
there’s been a flu bug going on in school. oh well.
i played at my first ever hockey match against Genazzano on wednesday. we won 6-1. or 7-1. the only reason why i got to play at this match was because the year 9s went for camp. girls practise and go for matches in three different teams: junior (years 7 and 8), intermediate (years 9 and 10) and senior (years 11 and 12). so yes, went as part of the intermediate team for that week. it was fun and i was learning the rules while playing the game. del, being so nice, unexpectedly helped me and told me the rules while we were running for the ball or positioning ourselves. thank you del! i still feel really grateful, something that i’ve never experienced for a long time. bad of me. i don’t know since when i began feeling emotionless. sometimes i don’t even feel anything. or i feel something but i can’t sense it. i don’t know.
we have extended form assemblies sometimes on friday. form assembly is when you assemble with your form class for attendance taking and announcements. so when we have extended form assembly, it means we stay in class from 8.30-9 instead of going for assembly (where the entire senior school would go to on a normal day). anyway, 2 weeks ago, we were having extended form assembly and then the school captain, mandy, and one of her friends, steph, came in and made us go out to the corridor. they thought it would be good that they came to interact with us instead of us wasting time talking and laughing like lunatics. they gave us sheets of paper which we put onto the backs of our friends. then we got a pen and began writing stuff down about one another, because we were supposed to be writing nice positive messages to/about each other.
this was what my classmates thought of me (some of these mesages were meant to be silly):
Stacy, you crack me up. You’re incredibly nice and so smart and Hilarious
^__^ your nice! and smart!!
I [HEART] YOUR SMILE STACEY.
SO COOL!
you are super nice!
very smart.
so nice + smart!
your really nice
Hotty
sweet
U r smart
Cheers for being the polite aunt of the family!!
Always nice to everyone! =) Patient.
=) [big; with tongue sticking out on left side]
so there you go. the first one was elspeth’s. here’s how to pronounce it: el-sperth. she says i’m funny. i believe the ‘I [HEART] YOUR SMILE STACEY.’ was written by claire, the polite aunt one by gen who helped me out on my first days and the second last one by emma k., who enjoys poking me (as i her). not sure who wrote ‘Hotty’, but anyway.
i should start a bit on my first days. i arrived at 8.45 when we were supposed to be in by 8.30 and i came in to find a whole class of unfamiliar curious faces. and then rhian saying hello and introducing herself. she helped me with my locker and the lock–how weird i must have seemed, not to know how to use these locks!
then i sat in the second row. it was dark but only because the lights weren’t on. gen turned then–she was sitting in front of me–and asked me what subjects i was taking and what house i was in. everyone got assigned to different houses, not one class in one house like haising is. i happened to be in Glamis (pronounced ‘glarms’) like her and melanie and i had one of the same electives as her and emma k.–Med! how lucky i am.
in time, i came to know of the groups in our class: the smart one, the normal one that didn’t really stand out and the bold one. the smart one:
gen (a natural-born leader with sarcastic humour, a good brain, musical, an ambition to be a surgeon like her father, born to an Indian father and Western mother),
claire (sporty, musical, smart, strong, humorous, violinist, soprano, in love with goth, born to a Western father and Chinese mother),
melanie (humorous, comical, friendly, artist, born to a Western father and Japanese mother),
emma k. (perfectionist, brainy, comical, singer, born in Australia, parents from Shanghai),
jade (same Chinese class, brilliant flautist and piccoloist, coolest handwriting apart from helen, Chinese parents),
helen (lover of organ music and stained glass in churches, draws buildings, attentive to details, cool handwriting like jade, always doing Math, Chinese parents),
elspeth (funny drama queen, impractical, humorous, comical, Western parents).
rhian, elly, kara, alice, evelyn and del are in the bold one. rhian i believe is from NZ and she normally acts as the counsellor for the bold group. elly acts well and kara enjoys acting silly and giving silly remarks until the teachers start warning her. but she’s hilarious. alice doesn’t say much but she’s okay. evelyn’s always yelling at everyone to spread out and kick/pass the ball during PE when we’re playing games. we call her ee-vee. del is madeleine, but she hates being called maddy. she’s really nice and smiles all the time.
the normal one comprises just about the rest of the class: emma h., aksharaa, cassie, zoe, sarah, natasha, sheree. i may have forgotten someone, but…okay.
the new students in class other than me were gemma and heidi. gemma has been home schooled all her life in yarrawonga, where her parents have a farm. she has 4 older siblings and a younger sister. one of her older sisters is a lawyer. heidi is from finland and she moved back there. she was never happy here. she got shifted up to year 11 because she’d learned all the stuff in year 10 and then within a week she moved back. i have her email address but have never gotten round to sitting down and typing an email to her.
so there you have it. talk about multicultural.
i believe i’m more reticent now. it’s not that i can’t talk, but more like i can’t talk about serious stuff with people. i feel the connection but it doesn’t run as deep as what i would feel with best friends. i don’t really survive in a group. because people get broken up even into groups.

Oh. Maybe because i now in Mars.

yo yo. i know this is a seriously outdated comment. i haven’t read your blog since may or june i think. anyway i just want to say that you have really cool classmates – so many mixed blood! and 4 of them have chinese parents. O.o their names sound really pretty. unlike mine.
the way you describe your classmates is like the way they describe it in stories of school life on the other side. sounds kind of unreal to me though. maybe because i’m too used to being around singaporeans who speaks singlish, hokkien and vulgarities. haiz. anyway jiayou over there! glad that you’re coming back next year. maybe by the time i won’t recognise you since zhihao said that you have put on some weight. BYE FOR NOW!
